TXSNOW Instructor Application Guidelines (Basic Requirements)

1. You must hold a recognized professional Instructor certification:

1.1 To become a TXSNOW snow Instructor, you must hold a valid certification issued by a recognized Canadian snowsports certification body (such as CASI, CSIA, PSIC, etc.), demonstrating that you have completed formal training and successfully passed the required assessments.

1.2 If you hold an Instructor certification issued outside of Canada, you must complete the applicable equivalency, affiliation, or reciprocity process (such as Associate, Affiliate, or Reciprocity status) as required by the relevant Canadian certification body in order to teach legally in Canada.

2. Your certification membership status must be valid and active.

You must maintain an active membership status with your respective Instructor association and complete all required continuing education and refresher training as mandated by CASI, CSIA, PSIC, or other applicable certification bodies, to ensure your technical skills and teaching methodologies remain current.

3. You must be legally eligible to work in Canada (including holding a valid SIN).

You must be legally authorized to work in Canada (such as holding a valid work permit, permanent resident status, or Canadian citizenship) and be able to provide a valid SIN along with the relevant supporting documentation.

4. Professional Teaching and Communication Requirements

You must demonstrate strong communication, demonstration, and lesson-management skills, and be able to design safe and effective teaching plans tailored to participants of different ages and ability levels. You must also agree to comply with TXSNOW’s instructional procedures, code of conduct, and safety standards.

5. Compensation and Taxation

5.1 TXSNOW pays compensation via Direct Deposit. In accordance with Canadian tax regulations, once your total annual compensation exceeds CAD 500, a T4A will be issued by TXSNOW’s accounting team. As an Independent Contractor, you are responsible for fulfilling your own tax filing and reporting obligations.

5.2 All paychecks are issued via Direct Deposit. If your total annual earnings exceed CAD 500, our accounting team will issue a T4A. Instructors are engaged as Independent Contractors and are responsible for filing their own taxes based on the T4A received.

6. You are required to purchase the Instructor uniform (a mandatory prerequisite for contract activation).

Joining TXSNOW requires the purchase of an Instructor uniform as the final compliance requirement (Instructors who already possess a compliant uniform are not required to purchase it again).

7. Strict Prohibition on Improper Use of Resort Passes and Lift Tickets

TXSNOW contracted Instructors are strictly prohibited, under any circumstances, from using any resort passes or lift tickets that belong to others or are non-transferable. If a contracted Instructor posts, shares, or engages in the buying, selling, or renting of non-transferable passes or tickets on any social media or online platform, this will be deemed an immediate trigger for contract termination. All resulting consequences and liabilities shall be borne solely by the Instructor.

8. Platform Model and Scheduling Mechanism

8.1 TXSNOW operates as a shared-platform model—a digital instructional operating system designed to help you convert your professional expertise into income during the winter season. By establishing clear rules, systems, and safety boundaries, TXSNOW provides a ready-to-use “software toolbox” covering insurance, contracts, pricing systems, booking channels, standardized workflows, policies, CRM, and an integrated points system. This enables Instructors who wish to generate winter income to leverage the full TXSNOW system—under their own name and personal teaching style—to acquire participants, sell Lessons, deliver instruction, and build both reputation and points over time.

8.2 No Guaranteed Scheduling: Joining TXSNOW does not constitute any guarantee of lesson volume or minimum working hours. Lesson scheduling is allocated based on a points-weighted system. Points are accumulated through a combination of factors including, but not limited to, self-driven lesson sales and conversion, instructional delivery and participant experience, content creation and dissemination, recruitment and ecosystem contribution, and ongoing professional development (PD). Higher point totals result in higher scheduling priority. TXSNOW reserves the final right to schedule and make adjustments based on safety and compliance considerations. (For detailed point criteria, please refer to “5. Points Rules” and the relevant sections of the TXSNOW Instructor Agreement.)**
